History

Launched in 2022 when the Fresno Clinical PsyD program at Alliant International University received its first 3-year Graduate Psychology Education (GPE) grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), a division of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

Mission

The long-term mission of the GPE grant is to help build a robust, integrated behavioral health workforce—particularly in communities with the greatest need (“high-need, high-demand areas”). For our grant, this means focusing on early training of doctoral students in integrated behavioral health in rural medical centers, strengthening collaborations between academic programs and community partners, and promoting integrated healthcare models and practices in Central California.

In short, the SJVIBHP is a community-facing initiative supported by our GPE grant. It serves as a convener and hub for all things related to integrated behavioral health in our beloved San Joaquin Valley.
